Established in 2016, Krate is Melaka’s first independent creative community specializing in customized interactive and multi-disciplinary performances. 

Krate Creative Space is a Melaka-based theatre production company dedicated to creating interactive and immersive performances that celebrate cultural narratives. With more than 10 original productions to date, Krate has grown into a dynamic platform that supports local artists while contributing actively to the development of Melaka’s performing arts landscape.

We transform spaces into stories. Collaborating closely with venues — including UNESCO heritage houses — we design immersive, site-specific performances that bring history, architecture, and culture to life. 

In addition to immersive works, Krate produces full-scale original musicals, black box productions, and multidisciplinary performances that blend theatre, music,
movement, and heritage elements. 

Our works range from culturally rooted narratives to contemporary explorations, always grounded in strong storytelling and meaningful audience engagement.
